Love, hate and a little fatherly advice.

What is it with the love hate relationship people down here have with gin. I mean don't get me wrong. I enjoy drinking a nice vodka on the rocks, but even though you won't catch me ordering a gin and tonic I love to use it when mixing fun drinks. That little whisper of juniper and other botanicals gives that touch of complexity that really make a drink stand out.

Either way, I was able to turn a bunch of people back onto gin last night with my Mongolian Princess cocktail. From trepidation as they watched me grab that bottle of Plymouth to exultation, "There is gin in that?" after sipping on my libation. The rhubarb mixed extremely well, and I will have to run it as a special tonight as well.

Now on another tangent dealing with love, there was a father and son that came into the bar last night. The son madly in love and soon to be married was enjoying a scotch with the father.
The older man asks, "Well, you did get her to sign the pre-nuptials, right?"

"No, we are in love and this is the only woman for me for the rest of my life," the son replies.

The father responds, "What?!?! Son, not signing a pre-nup in marriage is like having sex without a condom."

Isn't fatherly advice grand.
