Inspirations come in many forms...

When asked to come up with a cocktail for a Moroccan themed party this is where inspiration led me. Sometimes a little visualization is needed to bring you a continent away. Imagine pillows in all shapes and sizes. Incense is burning and the moon is full. Comfort is forced upon you in a good way as you relax and settle into the feather bed of the evening ahead. Good times are abound as you experience...

Moroccan Nights

1 1/2 oz. Ketel Citroen
1 1/2 oz. Fresh Pomegranate Juice
1 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
3/4 oz. Cardamon Syrup*

Garnish: Tarragon/Rosemary sprig

Preparation: Combine the ingredients above into a mixing tin with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds and strain into a highball glass with ice. Garnish with Tarragon/Rosemary sprig.

Description: Savory, off sweet cocktail with a subtle richness

*Cardamon syrup is easily made by taking 4 oz. of whole cardamon seeds and giving them a slight grind to break out the brown seeds inside. Then use 30 oz. of water and bring to a boil. Introduce 50 oz. of baking sugar and allow it to dissolve before removing from flame and strain through a chinois.
